Nikki update

Nikki is looking better, but the cancer is progressing. Mom & I went to the vet today to get an updated x-ray and look at how she's doing. The cancer is eatten away most of her shoulder bone and there's a significant risk of fracture at this point. Nikki's limping more and we're changing her pain meds around. But she's still "Nikki". She's eatting, wanting to go outside and play, barking at other dogs, and her eyes are alert and "there". She looks good outside of the limp. But it's sad to know she has such a limited time left with us. I will miss her. A lot.

and then I go and look at other LJ's who are also morning a loss. Ok, so today sucks. I'm sitting at the computer in tears, eyes closed and trying to type. This is sad. I don't handle death and loss well... not at all.
